What is Adidas +F50 TUNIT?
TUNIT allows you to customize, adapt and tune your soccer shoe to perfectly match the weather, the field and your own personal style.

F50.8 TUNiT Description
The Adidas F50.8 TUNiT is the third generation of the famous F50 series soccer shoe.  Weighing in at only 330 grams, the F50.8 TUNiT is the lightest so far.  Like its predecessors it is an interchangeable soccer shoe. You decide on the elements of the soccer shoe to match the conditions you are playing in and your personal preference.

adidas F50.8 TUNiT

Adidas F50.8 Tunit consists of four exchangeable parts. Besides the upper, chassis and studs that are part of the previous soccer shoes, the new Tunit brings an additional component in Sockliner or Insole.  Options available include; 5 colored F50.8 uppers with 3 different materials, 2 different chassis, 3 stud systems, and 2 different insoles.

The good news is, for those of you that have previous models, you can interchange your old components with the F50.8 TUNiT.

F50.8 TUNiT Uppers

Standard
New microfiber called "AdiDot" - soft, lightweight and durable synthetic, very easy to take care of and has no water retention levels which allows the shoe to keep its lightweight regardless of weather and field conditions.

ClimaCool
Material engineered to reduce building-up heat and moisture.  ClimaCool provides a 360° cooling effect for the entire foot through the adiHex/mesh upper construction and ventilation cutouts in the outsole.

Leather
Soft calf leather that is probably the closest in quality to Kangaroo leather. It needs some brake-in time to soften but becomes very soft, durable and comfortable.

AllesKlar Technology
The new Adidas F50.8 TUNiT also features a transparent heel/bottom unit called “Alles Klar” (All Clear)  that enables reduction of weight of the soccer shoe and, thanks to different degrees of hardness, results in much greater stability and flexibility. Since greater stability is required in the heel area, the material of the “Alles Klar” element is particularly strong and stable here, becoming softer and more flexible towards the forefoot.

F50.8 TUNiT Chassis

Choose between two different chassis, the "standard" or the "competition" chassis. The standard comfort chassis offers perfect stability, cushioning and optimal distribution of stud pressure.  The ultra light competition chassis offers ClimaCool moisture management for maximum flexibility in the forefoot and optimum breathability, great for the big soccer match.

F50.8 TUNiT Stud Systems

Three stud systems ensure you get the right traction for your surface.   They include Soft Ground, Hard Ground and Firm Ground.

Soft Ground (SG) is used on soft and/or very wet pitch. These studs have aluminum tips and come in two lengths: 18mm for the heel area and 15mm for the forefoot area.

Firm Ground (FG) is used on firm and dry natural fields. They are made of TPU; the length for the heel area is 15mm and 12mm for the forefoot area.

Hard Ground (HG) is used on very hard and dry surfaces. These rubber studs come in 13 mm length for the heel area and 10mm for the forefoot area.

An integrated "wear indicator" on the FG and HG stud systems alerts you so you know when to change the studs.

F50.8 TUNiT Insole

The insole, or sockliner, determines the degree of comfort and breathability of the soccer shoe.  The standard sockliner offers a premolded, soft and slightly cushioned insole for perfect stability, cushioning and optimal distribution of stud pressure. The somewhat thinner, perforated and thus extremely lightweight, breathable sockliner with ClimaCool moisture management offers maximum flexibility in the forefoot and optimum breathability and comfort for the competition sockliner.

Summary

The F50.8 TUNiT is an improvement on the previous models. Especially in its flexibility and weight.  A complaint with earlier versions was reliability.  With the interchangeable components being more securely integrated, due to the “Alles Klar” heel to toe unit, should help. Another great thing about the new Adidas F50.8 Tunit is that all components from all versions are compatible with each other.
